researches in israel

yesterday i returned from a one-week study trip to israel. the main reason for the visit was the international holocaust memorial yad vashem, where i was particularly interested in how the topic was treated architecturally, artistically and pedagogically. the memorial complex includes research facilities, a museum, an exhibition hall and some artistic monuments such as the hall of remembrance and the memorial for the children.
in the museum, one is almost overwhelmed by the amount of material on display. we left the building tired and sad, i had the feeling that i had been pushed to the limits of my mental processing capacity. presumably, it is the task of this institution to be led to exactly this limit in order to understand the incomprehensible extent of the past crimes, at least to some extent.
