the number of 6 million jews killed seems incomprehensible. but you can visualise it: if you line up 6 million people, you get a human chain of incredible 3,500 kilometres. this corresponds to the distance bordeaux – moscow. peter michael witt drew a 1940 adac map of europe on aludibond and gilded a fine line between bordeaux and moscow.
in doing so, he was using a japanese repair technique for broken ceramics that he learned from his wife.
